2010

Introduction

Welcome to our Winter Edition newsletter.

In the previous newsletter I commented what an interesting year 2009 was for our business. So far 2010 has not disappointed with its unpredictability. Overall, the first six months of 2010 have been solid but it has been particularly challenging predicting the prevailing business conditions and to plan ahead with any certainty.

I am optimistic about the outlook for the remainder of 2010. We have noticed a recent pick-up in activity and looking to build momentum into Spring via new projects such as the NSW Government Green Street planting program.

We are planning to grow and expand our business over the next six months. We have recently developed a new section at our Alstonville site, designed to stock a large range of semi-nature trees and shrubs. We have expanded our commercial sales team with Mark Tyler joining Ken Bevan. We have developed the Dural site to accommodate a larger deciduous growing section. Several more developments are currently in progress and we will keep you updated throughout the year.

The entire team at Alpine and I look forward to working with you over the second half of 2010.
