Alpine Nurseries Seminar Series 2009

We will be continuing our popular seminar series in 2009.

We have received fantastic feedback about the seminars held in 2008 and are planning two for 2009 to be held in April and October.

The first seminar of 2009 will be a design focussed seminar for landscape designers, architects and anyone with an interest in design.  The second seminar will be in the form of a technical workshop looking at plant establishment and management techniques and issues.

The 2009 seminars will follow a similar format to last year’s seminars with presentations, demonstrations, delicious food and an opportunity to meet with Alpine staff and other seminar participants.

The 2008 seminars were well attended with over 300 people across the three days which has firmly established the Alpine Seminar Series in the industry’s event calendar.

The last of the seminars in 2008 was held in November and was focussed on Councils.  The highlight of the seminar was the “Hypothetical” where Alpine’s Craig Rich lead a panel of experts representing Councils, landscape architects, nurseries and landscaper contractors through a hypothetical street tree planting from initial design and specification, through ordering, growing and supplying the trees to the ongoing maintenance issues.

At each stage, the panel of experts raised a number of sometimes contentious issues and, with input from the audience, a lively discussion ensued.

Rebecca Colechin from the Alpine Sales team also previewed a range of new plants that have just become available at Alpine or will be available in late 2009.

Relevant topics, excellent speakers, good food and time to mingle with industry colleagues are proving to be the ingredients of a winning formula that we will continue in 2009.

We are passionate about the horticultural industry and see these seminars as a way to share that passion with you and also provide useful information to help in your everyday work.

Invitations will be sent at the appropriate time and announcements will be made through email and industry associations.  In the meantime you can express your interest and ensure we have up to date contact details by registering with Karen Reardon (02) 9651 0900 or karenreardon@alpinenurseries.com.au.
