Returning Travelers: Alpine Staff are back from their travels

Photo 24.jpgStephanie, Ben and Vickii have been overseas traveling and are now back with stories to tell.  It’s great to have such experienced staff return before spring.

Stephanie and Ben spent eight weeks traveling in exotic South America, visiting Argentina, Chile, Peru and Ecuador.  They took the road less traveled, mostly using local buses and lugging their back packs.

Their itinerary was jam-packed and they found many wonderful places and accommodation along the way.

They did lots of hiking and marvelled at the wonderful plant life and scenery in some of the most beautiful places on earth.  They have thousands of photographs still to be sorted through.

Stephanie and Ben’s highlights in Argentina included Iguaçu Falls, Peninsula Valdes, Perito Moreno Glacier and Mount Fitzroy.  While in Chile, she recommends the Fjords of Chile on the Navimag Ferry.  The Inca Trail to Machu Pichu was a testing time but well worth the walk and the Nasca Lines in Peru didn’t fail to amaze.  The jungles of Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands were fabulous and teeming with wildlife.

On getting back to her desk Stephanie commented “Although we had a most wonderful time on our trip I’m always glad to come home to my house, my friends and my job. I like to think my customers would be lost without me.”

In November of last year, Vickii headed back to New Zealand to spend time with her father.  She has lived in Australia since 1994, and so has only seen him briefly once a year.  This time she wanted to spend an extended period of time at the old family home and catch up on family life.

She spent 3 months in Te Anau in the south island of NZ, hiking, mountain biking and spending time with her father.  Vickii says her father thought having her back at home was fantastic, and they had a great time together.

After a great break Vickii has come back to life in Australia and Alpine and says that “Coming back to Alpine is an opportunity for me to work with my customers and work colleagues again, both of which I really enjoy.”

Having Stephanie and Vickii back in the office has brought a wealth of experience back to Alpine and will allow us to maintain our high standards of service in the coming months and years.
