Comments, Features & Uses:

Long stemmed deep green leaves growing from creeping rhizome, small inconspicuous cream to dark purple flowers in Spring/ Summer. Known for its indestructible toughness as an indoor plant in low light areas and poor air quality, also useful for understorey planting in tropical landscapes.

Soil Requirements:

Semi tropical to cool temperate.

A slow release fertilser applied in Spring.

Pests and Diseases:

Not prone to disease, snails may be a problem.
