Comments, Features & Uses:

Is often grown as a street tree and as a hedge or wind break and appreciated for its spectacular display of sweetly fragrant, creamy white flowers in Summer. Flowers best in areas that experience a mild Winter. Very attractive to bees and birds.

Parkland/ Large Open Space: 18m h x 10m w in its natural environment

Moderate Open Space: 6- 8m h x 4- 6m w

Urban Environment: Can be kept at 6m or less

Full sun or part shade. 

Coastal Tolerance:                

No.

Soil Requirements:

Plant in well drained, moist, loamy soil.

Moisture Requirements:

Water regularly during dry weather.

Temperature Range:

Prefer warm climates but will survive very light frosts.

Maintenance and Fertiliser Requirements:

Responds well to pruning. Low Phosphorous slow release fertiliser is recommended.

Pests and Diseases:

Can be affected by leaf miner.

Spacing Guide:

Dependant on overall height required. From 2m- 4m apart
