Blue Haze Tree/ Brazilian Rosewood/ Fern Tree           

A fast growing, spreading, rounded semi-deciduous tree with attractive, ferny fresh green foliage.  In Spring and Summer, large, drooping bunches of lilac-blue, tubular blooms create a stunning long lasting display.  Uses are shade tree, specimen tree, streetscape.

Naturally Occurring:                    

Native to South America.

Aspect:

Full sun to partial sun position.

Coastal Tolerance:                

Not tolerant of coastal exposure.

Soil Requirements:

Prefers a moist, well-drained soil, rich in organic matter.

Moisture Requirements:


Mulch well and keep moist during warm periods.  Water in Summer for fast growth.

Temperature Range:

Suitable for warm temperate areas, can withstand frost, protect from frost when young.

Maintenance and Fertiliser Requirements:


Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser.
