A tough, small, ornamental deciduous tree. Vase shaped with slightly spreading crown.  Offering attractive patterned bark which is a highlight feature along with medium mauve terminal panicles of flowers throughout the Summer and Autumn months.  Dark green summer foliage turning to light orange/russet in Autumn. Very tough variety and long flowering.  Uses for feature tree in small gardens, street planting, along fence lines, around buildings and in car parks.

A cultivated variety of Lagerstroemia indica, which is native to Japan, Korea and China.

Full sun position to partial shade.

Coastal Tolerance:                

Not tolerant of coastal exposure.

Prefers slightly acidic soils, rich in organic matter.

A moist, well-draining soil.

Temperature Range:

Suitable for temperate areas.

Maintenance and Fertiliser Requirements:

Fertilise with a slow release fertiliser and regularly apply organic matter to the soil.

Pests and Diseases:

This variety is bred to be powdery mildew resistant.
