New Zealand Cabbage Tree       

An erect palm like tree with long rich green sword like leaves. Large heads of scented creamy white flowers appear in late Spring / early Summer followed by a bluish white berry. Use as a feature, tropical landscape, privacy screen or containers.

Soil Requirements:


Grow in most soils.

Moisture Requirements:


Once established will tolerate dry and wet conditions. Maintain moisture in containers.

Temperature Range:

Tropical, semitropical, warm temperate, cool temperate to mild frost.

Maintenance and Fertiliser Requirements:


Control height and shape by pruning, remove spent flowers and old leaves. A long term slow release fertiliser annually.

Pests and Diseases:

Caterpillars can be a problem in some areas.

Spacing Guide:


1m apart for massed effect or plant as a single specimen.
