Comments, Features & Uses:

A clump forming plant with wide deep dark green strappy leaves bearing clusters of red/orange funnel shaped flowers that sit nicely above the foliage in winter/spring. Excellent for mass planting under trees and fit in with many garden styles.

Aspect:

Summer shade and protection from frost.

Coastal Tolerance:                

Not suitable for coastal areas.

Soil Requirements:

Well drained soil enriched with organic matter.

Moisture Requirements:

Very drought hardy.

Temperature Range:

Tropical, sub tropical, warm temperate, to mediterranean.

Maintenance and Fertiliser Requirements:


A slow release fertiliser applied in Spring or Summer will improve flowering. Mulch and remove old flower stems.

Pests and Diseases:

Relatively disease free, snails may pose a problem.

Spacing Guide:

30 – 40 cm apart with crowns just above soil level.

140mm and 200mm.
