Comments, Features & Uses:
Large shrub/small tree with pendulous branches that bear magnificent crimson bottlebrush flowers in Spring-Summer and occasionally Autumn. Grey woolly foliage has attractive pink new growth. Excellent choice as a garden or lawn specimen or used as an informal screen. Suitable for street plantings as well. Bird attractant.

Second line coastal positioning.

Soil Requirements:

Adaptable to most soil types but prefers fertile, well drained soil and the addition of organic mulch. |

Tolerates less than perfect drainage but performs best in gardens with reasonable drainage. Regular watering is required until established in suitable conditions. Will require watering during long, dry periods.

Will resist reasonable frosts of at least -5 degrees celsuis. |

Maintenance and Fertiliser Requirements:
|
Responds well to a trim after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new growth and more flowers. Feed in Spring and Autumn with an all-purpose fertiliser such as Native Osmocote or an organic fertiliser.
