Casuarina glauca Cousin It ®

This is a hardy very prostrate form of Casuarina that has a ground hugging growth habit and will follow the contours of the ground and will also spill over walls and rocks. It has bright green leafless stems and is drought hardy and tolerant of coastal conditions..

Raphiolepis Oriental Pearl

Although this is not a new plant it has only recently been added to the Alpine range. Oriental Pearl is an extremely hardy plant that will tolerate dry condition, coastal salt spray, and frosts to – 5c. It has white flowers and a uniform growth habit. It is suitable for low informal hedges and mass plantings and is tolerant of a wide rage of soil types.

Carissa Desert Star

Although this is not a new plant it has only recently been added to the Alpine range. Carissa has large white sweetly scented flowers and is a very hardy drought resistant plant that will also thrive in coastal positions. It has glossy green foliage and makes a very good low hedge or mounding plant.

Westringia fruticosa Mundi

This is a unique form of Westringia as it is a low mounding ground cover that has retained all the hardy attributes of the species but has a different growth habit. It will grow best in full sun and would make an ideal plant for roundabouts and blister beds in car parks as it will mound to a height that will not affect vision. Also useful on banks and for mass plantings it is tough enough to live on natural rainfall once established and will tolerate light frosts.  Flowers are white and the plant requires no pruning.

Acmena smithii 'Sublime'

This is an excellent plant for hedges , screening ,and topiary . It is very dense and will provide a complete block out to hide fences or buildings. It can be pruned to maintain a specific height or width and will tolerate coastal conditions and light frosts to -3c. The fluffy white flowers appear in summer and are followed by non toxic  deep mauve berries. Sublime will assist in increasing wildlife biodiversity due to its dense habit, flowers and fruit.

Waterhousea floribunda 'Sweeper'

Sweeper has a paler leaf with a more pronounced ripple and the tree is more weeping than the straight species. It can be used as a large screen and can be pruned to maintain a size. Other uses are as a street tree, car park shade tree or for park land plantings. Sweeper will do best in warm moist climates and will only tolerate very light frosts to -2c.

Eucalyptus cladoclayx 'Vintage Red'

Vintage Red is a decorative ornamental Australian native tree with stunning red foliage. Vintage Red is a form of Sugar Gum and it produces distinctive stems and branches which when young are almost black in colour. As the plant matures the deep coloured bark on the branches and trunk peel away revealing a contrasting smooth grey bark through the summer months.

Although this is not a new plant it has only recently been added to the Alpine range. It  a hardy and spectacular small tree  and is particularly suited to coastal situations. It can be used as a car park shade tree, a specimen plant or used cleverly to highlight the vivid bronze/ purple leaves. The flowers are yellow and prominently stand out against the foliage.

Westringia 'Naringa'

Probably one of the best hedging Westringias on the market. Naringa is vigorous, upright and very tidy in its growth habit. It produces masses of mauve flowers and is hardy in a wide range of conditions and soil types and is particularly useful for coastal plantings.
