Grand scale formal garden
Project completed by Rolling Stone Landscapes in 2004.
Alpine Nurseries is proud to be a supplier to Rolling Stone Landscapes and has supplied and sourced a wide range of plant material for them over many years. Recently Rolling Stone were involved in the design and construction of a spectacular formal garden that incorporated a wide range of plants from very tall instant hedges to low formal hedges as well as many decorative flowering plants and foliage colours.
Many of the plants were grown on especially for the project by Alpine to provide the highest quality stock for such a prestige assignment. This process also gave Alpine the ability to grow some of the hedging plants to a specific height that was nominated by Rolling Stone. It is a great example of how with time and good communication between the designer and the nursery fantastic results can be achieved.
Feature trees that were used in the project were 200litre Magnolia grandiflora ‘Exmouth’ with 100litre Cupressocyparis ‘Leighton Greens’ being used as the super tall hedging. Other plants that were used on site included Murraya, Gardenia Florida, Camellia sasanqua and Syzygium Resilience. Syzygium Resilience was used in large numbers to minimize ongoing maintenance; this variety was selected due to its resistance to psylids.
This garden has been used for a charity fund raising party and was also featured on television on Better Homes and Gardens.
