Juniperus taxifolia 'Lutchuensis'
Creeping Juniper
Description
An impressive ground hugging conifer that forms a dense, low maintenance carpet. The soft, needle-like foliage is a spearmint green with a silvery tone underneath. The seed cones are berry-like and green, ripening to purple-brown in 18 months. Prefers a well-draining soil in full sun but will tolerate poorer conditions and shade. Withstands strong winds and heavy frosts. An excellent ground cover in rockeries and on banks. Also suitable for spilling out of tall pots or cascading over walls. Water regularly to establish and mulch well to reduce soil moisture loss.
