'Luscious' Water Gum
Description
An attractive medium-sized, round canopied tree, that is an improved form of Tristaniopsis laurina, displaying large shiny leaves and coppery-red new growth. The bark is a rich port colour that peels back to reveal mottled cream and light brown stems. Sweetly scented flowers are bright yellow and displayed in clusters at the ends of branches during January and February. Will grow in full sun to part shade and suits a wide range of soils. Performs best in a warm, moist situation but is tolerant of both frost and drought. May require supplementary Summer water. Not suited to very dry climates or exposure to hot winds. An ideal shade tree or screen for home gardens, parks, ovals and street planting.
