Eyes to the Sky! The Esplanade Norwest

Commercial, Display, Featured

Taking on the luxurious Esplanade Norwest, this 8-month landscaping project completed by Simon Johnson at SJ Landscapes, is one of a kind.

If you are ever in Norwest, visit The Esplanade and lift your eyes to the sky. You will see some of the most spectacular multi-level residential leisure zones ever offered in Sydney. Extraordinary in their scope and scale, this is the setting for the exclusive residents-only amenity of the ‘Esplanade Club’.

Residents enjoy emerald green lawns, dining pavilions, sunset cabanas and scenic retreat worthy chill-out spaces, entwined with dense rainforest planting, swaying palms and reflection pools. Wander through lush gardens soaking up lake views. There are grills for a weekend barbecues and luscious grassy areas where residents and visitors can watch movies under the stars, not to mention a mini putting green and outdoor gym circuit.

There are many key features and areas within this development, however 12 that deserve a special mention are the 8 Phoenix canaiensis Canary Island Date Palms escorted from Queensland as well as the 4 Livistona australis Cabbage Tree Palms, farm grown, with 3 meter clear trunks. Each tree was craned to its final home, swinging across Norwest Lake from the tower crane. These 12 trees saw the first transformation of the site from being just a ‘construction site’ to a feeling of ‘lifestyle’.

When we asked Simon about feedback he had received on conclusion of the project he responded,

“Extremely positive. It was geared more as a lifestyle project so the developer and the owners had very different expectations from any other large-scale apartment development I have been involved with. Like any landscaping project it is always nice to install as it changes the way the whole project is viewed. It gives it life after just being scaffold, concrete, gyprock and glass for so long”.

“When I look back, this was an extremely complex project with a lot of detail. It came together very well considering the timeframe, drought, fires, winds, and the enormous downpour that hit which caused the shopping centre behind the construction site to flood half the site, not to mention a global pandemic! To say we have had some difficult conditions would be an understatement. However, despite all the challenges everyone was extremely happy and the project was completed on time!”

The Norwest Esplanade development is a leading example of a well-planned and managed project. In conjunction with the project management expertise Alpine Nurseries brings and the strong collaboration with SJ Landscapes, this development was a very satisfying achievement all-round.

“During this entire process, and having to deal with all sorts of natural disasters, we never had any issues working with Alpine. Unless that changes, I would not look elsewhere for supply and service”.
