Aspidistra elatior

Description

Long stemmed deep green leaves growing from creeping  rhizome, small inconspicuous cream to dark purple  flowers in spring/summer. Known for its indestructible toughness as an indoor plant in low light areas and poor air quality, also useful for understorey planting in tropical landscapes.
