Chrysocephalum apiculatum
Common Everlasting, Yellow Buttons
Description
A fast growing, low and spreading perennial native herb. During late Spring and Summer the bright yellow flowers appear as daisy-like clusters at the end of tall stems. Leaves and stems are covered in silky hairs and this gives the plant an overall green-grey appearance. Prefers full sun and requires a well drained soil and good mulching in Summer to maintain moisture. Will not tolerate wet feet. A good option for border/edge planting in Cottage and Native gardens or in rockeries. Frost, salt and wind resistant. Suitable for both inland and coastal plantings. Can be heavily pruned to encourage a denser growth habit.
