Clivia miniata
Clivia, Kaffir Lily
Description
A drought hardy, clump forming plant with dark green, strappy leaves. Bears clusters of pale orange funnel-shaped flowers in Winter/Spring, which sit above the foliage. Excellent for mass planting under trees and compatible with many garden styles but not suitable for coastal sites. Likes Summer shade and protection from frost and prefers a well drained soil enriched with organic matter. A slow release fertiliser applied in Spring/Summer will improve flowering. Mulch and remove old flower stems.
