New Zealand Cabbage Tree
An erect, palm-like tree with long, green, sword-like leaves and large heads of scented, creamy white flowers which appear in late Spring/early Summer, to be followed by bluish white berries. Will grow in most soils and once established will tolerate both dry and wet conditions. Temperature range is from Tropical through to cool temperate, including mild frost. Use as a feature, in tropical landscapes, as a privacy screen or in pots. Keep containerised plants well watered. Prune to control height and shape and remove spent flowers and old leaves to maintain a tidy appearance.
