Dichondra repens
Kidney Weed, Kidney Grass
Description
An attractive native groundcover often used as a lawn alternative in moist, shady areas. Leaves are small, fresh green in colour and kidney-shaped. The vigorous, creeping habit results in a dense mat that hugs the ground and spreads readily. Good for planting between pavers, as a ground stabiliser on embankments, or in hanging baskets. Adaptable to most climates and tolerates full sun to 80% shade. Prefers a well-drained, moist soil. Low maintenance but can be mowed if necessary.
