Ficus pumila
Creeping Fig, Climbing Fig
Description
A vigorous, woody, evergreen vine with a creeping habit. The small juvenile foliage is rusty-pink, changing to light green then to a darker green. As the plant ages the mature leaves increase in size. It is fast growing and requires little in the way of care. It is generally used in the landscape to cover walls, fences or in grottos and will provide a solid, green, matted coverage of the surface it is growing on. It is not frost hardy but can be used for indoor display purposes on totems, or in hangers. It can become invasive if not maintained and contained, particularly if grown on buildings.
