Gardenia augusta 'Radicans'
Gardenia Radicans
Description
An evergreen, low spreading shrub with small, glossy green leaves and petite, sweetly fragrant, waxy, white blooms which appear from late Spring through to late Autumn. It prefers a slightly acidic, compost enriched, moist soil in a warm sheltered position, protected from the extreme heat of the day. Too much shade though will inhibit flowering. Water well, especially in the warmer months, and also apply mulch to keep the shallow roots cool. Fertilise regularly during the growing season. Mass plant as a groundcover beneath taller shrubs for impact in garden beds, grow along the edge of paths and driveways, or use as potted displays.
