Lagerstroemia Indian Summer 'Sioux'
Sioux Crepe Myrtle, Crepe Myrtle
Description
A showy, small, ornamental, deciduous tree with an upright vase shape and rounded crown. Feature highlights are the attractive, patterned bark and the masses of intense-pink flowers, displayed in terminal panicles throughout the Summer and Autumn months. The dark green Summer foliage changes to coppery-brown and bright red in Autumn. Grows in full sun to partial shade, preferring a moist, well-draining, slightly acidic soil, rich in organic matter. Suitable for temperate zones but not tolerant of coastal exposure. Adaptable to a range of conditions and bred to resist Powdery Mildew. Water well to establish. Suitable for use as a feature tree in parks and gardens, or as potted specimen. Remove spent flower heads to encourage next season's growth and to keep tidy.
