Lagerstroemia Indian Summer 'Tuscarora'
Tuscarora Crepe Myrtle, Crepe Myrtle
Description
A spectacular small to medium, ornamental, deciduous tree with a broad, spreading crown. Feature highlights are the attractive, patterned bark and the dark, fuchsia-pink flowers displayed in terminal panicles throughout the Summer and Autumn months. The dark green Summer foliage turns reddish-orange in Autumn. Grows in full sun to partial shade, preferring a moist, well-draining, slightly acidic soil, rich in organic matter. Suitable for temperate zones but not tolerant of coastal exposure. A very adaptable and long-flowering variety, suitable for use as a feature in parks and gardens, as a street tree, or for screening. Remove spent flower heads to encourage next season's growth.
