Liriope muscari 'Evergreen Giant'
Evergreen Giant
Description
An evergreen, grass-like, clumping perennial with tall, narrow, strappy green leaves. Purple flower spikes are presented during Summer and Autumn, to be followed by small, dark blue berries. A very hardy plant, able to thrive in poor soil and tolerant of most climates. Will do well in full sun to part shade. Tolerates frost, coastal conditions and periods of drought but regular watering will keep it lush. Requires good drainage. Use as an understorey mass planting in Tropical gardens, on embankments, in rockeries, in pots and as edging alongside paths. If desired, can be cut right back once a year in Spring before the new growth appears. Responds well to mulch and a slow release fertiliser in Spring.
