Lomandra longifolia 'Tanika'
Tanika, Mat Rush
Description
As a very tough and reliable Lomandra, Tanika has a compact habit and soft, fine, green foliage. Small yellow flower spikes, that sit within the foliage, appear from April to October. It grows in full sun to moderate shade, tolerating frost and drought but disliking wet feet and high humidity. Prefers sandy, sandy loam to clay soils with good drainage. As a low maintenance plant, with minimal water requirements once established, it is ideal for border plantings as well as specimen/mass plantings in commercial, residential, roadside or parkland situations. Also looks great in pots. Cut back to 15cm every 3-10 years as required (will look better every 3 years).
