Description
A small to medium, dense shrub with attractive purplish-red foliage and clusters of pretty, pink, tassel like flowers which appear heavily in Spring and then spot flower throughout the Summer. It prefers a well-drained, fertile soil, enriched with organic matter. Avoid lime. Maintain water levels to establish but once settled the plant is reasonably drought tolerant, however, do not allow to become too dry over Summer. Suits warm and cold climates and tolerates light frosts. Tip prune regularly and trim after flowering. Can be cut back hard if required. 'China Pink' provides year round interest as a feature plant, background shrubbery, clipped hedge, in pots or as an espalier. Will suit Oriental, Cottage and Contemporary Gardens.
