Swamp Foxtail, Fountain Grass
Description
This is a tall, clumping, native grass with fine, green, elegant, upright to arching foliage. Foxtail-like green, cream and purple tinged flowers appear during Summer to Autumn. Grows best in full sun to partial shade in loamy, clay loam and free draining light clay soils. Naturally occurs in moist positions in flats below watercourses and boggy areas. Will grow in protected coastal sites. Good for both mass and specimen plantings for borders, rockeries, and roadsides for commercial and residential use. Plant in a well (chunky) mulched garden and maintain good water during hot, dry Summers. Trim back to 1/3 size in late Winter early Spring and apply an all purpose fertiliser.
