Description

A medium-sized, evergreen, rounded shrub with large, leathery, glossy green leaves and masses of pink flowers throughout the cooler months. Fruit is a small dark berry. Grows in full sun to partial shade, but flowers best in full sun. A very hardy shrub, tolerating a wide range of conditions and soils but requiring good drainage. Resistant to drought, pollution, coastal exposure and frost, growing in subtropical to cooler zones. Works well in numerous garden styles such as; Mediterranean, European Formal, Seaside, Tropical and Cottage gardens, as a specimen shrub, hedge or windbreak. Prune to shape after flowering and remove berries to achieve good flowering the following year.
