Sapium sebiferum

Description

A highly ornamental, tough, medium-sized tree with an open pyramidal crown that becomes more rounded as it matures. Autumn colours are yellow to bright reddish-purple. Grows in full sun to partial shade and once established, the tree is tolerant of poor soils and demanding site conditions, including moderate drought and sheltered coastal sites. Also tolerates intermittently wet sites. A lovely shaped tree that has proven to be of great value as a street/avenue tree, or as a feature in parks, gardens and lawns. Plant in a warm sunny position for best colour.
